German New Medecine Part 2-The different systems and their symbolism
Remember that it is always how the person feels about a situation that can translate physically. One person can feel suffocated while another may feel powerless in the same exact situation and this is why very different systems in the body can be impacted. Today, I will touch on 3 systems: Respiratory, Muscular and Digestive.
The respiratory system has to do with our environment. The ambiance we live in, how we feel in the spaces we spend most time in and around the people we spend most time with. Heavy ambiances at home or work with lots of conflict or restrictive spaces that can make the person feel suffocated, can lead to symptoms in this system. A lack of “space to breathe” or to be ourselves and feel peace, safety and joy in these environments can impact the respiratory system. In a deeper sense, the respiratory system also relates to life and death as the breath is what keeps us alive, so when this system is impacted, there can be stories in our own lives or generational stories around danger and survival.
The muscular system has to do with our sense of power. What power does the person feel they do not have over their lives? Which situations, people or even their own internal dialogue make them feel disempowered? Is it a need to control that makes them feel this way? These are all factors to consider and work on to allow the person to reclaim the power they do have over their lives even if they cannot control everything. The body can begin to respond positively to the changes made in this area.
The digestive system has to do with the things we cannot digest emotionally. Symptoms in this system show up when the person cannot digest a person or a situation in their lives. The person is unable to process and assimilate, filter through and transform or release the emotions that were brought up and they may get held in the body and eventually manifest physically.
The degree and severity of the symptoms correlates to the duration and severity of the stress. If for example, if the person ends up restoring inner peace within days or weeks, they may not have any or very mild symptoms. However, if the person spends months or years stressing heavily about something without finding any emotional or practical solutions, then this can lead to more serious symptoms. Once again, this information can either scare you or empower, it all depends how you use it!
In the next blog, I will cover the skin/tegumentary system, the ostearticular system and the immune/lymphatic system.
